We will be doing the Vedic Agnihotra Fire Ceremony at 7.00pm (sunset). This will be done as a prelude to the evening for all those who would like to experience the cleansing and purification of Agnihotra both for themselves and the Earth. Please be there by 6.50 if you would like to attend.The regular evening will begin at 7.30pm with our guest speaker

Seeing Beyond
Seeing beyond problems helps find real solutions.
To be lost in the consciousness of the problem is to lose perspective.
When I still my mind, I am able to experience intuitive insight into what will truly resolve a problem.
Often it is a change of attitude or heart, or a subtle shift in my approach that will influence a beneficial outcome.
Today let me use spiritual solutions in practical ways by stilling my mind and experiencing clarity and a change of perspective.

Health Tip
WATER:
- You’re not sick, you’re thirsty.
• Water is a nutrient, it is the body’s main source of energy – it is the “cash flow” of the body
- The human body is about 75% water and 25% solid matter. The brain is said to be 85% water
- Blood is normally about 94% water when the body is fully hydrated.
- If you wait to feel thirsty before you drink water you are already dehydrated!
- The tragedy of waiting to get thirsty hits home when it is realised that the sharpness of thirst perception is gradually lost, as we get older.
- Water is a natural antihistamine and effective diuretic
- Water energizes food, and food particles are then able to supply the body with this energy during digestion. This is why food without water has absolutely no energy value for the body.
- Water should be taken first thing in the morning to correct dehydration produced during our sleeping hours.
- Water should be drunk before meals as this prepares the digestive tract. Water should be taken anytime you are thirsty – even during meals. Water should be taken 2 ½ hours after a meal to complete the digestion process. This also corrects the dehydration caused by food breakdown
- Every 24 hours the body recycles approx 44,000 glasses of water to maintain its normal physiological functions – everyday of its life. Within this pattern of water metabolism and its recycling process, the body becomes short of about 6-10 glasses of water daily. This deficit has to be supplied to the body every day – it takes this amount of water to be used for essential functions of the body on a daily basis.
When you drink coffee, tea, cola or even a beer your body gets rid of more water than is contained in the drink!

Monday nights are a wonderful powerful opportunity for all of us to unwind, recharge, relax and rejuvenate. Come and feed your soul through restful meditation and be inspired by our gifted speakers.
The Academy meets every Monday night (except public holidays) at St John’s Uniting Church Hall, cnr of Yeo Street and Barry Street, Neutral Bay. Enter off Barry Street. Session starts 7:30pm. Entry Fee: $15, concession available.
