Teal Scott – How to Make a Difference in the World
This is a 7 minute clip from Teal Scott in which she discusses how to deal with the suffering of the world. Teal Says “When we look at something across the world that causes suffering or when we look at something in someone else’s life that causes them to suffer, we feel powerless. Being empathetic, we want desperately to do something to improve the situation. But we don’t know how. The most crucial thing for us to understand is that we will never feel good about the world we live in, or about ourselves until we stop addressing suffering in terms of specific, isolated incidents. We will only reduce suffering if we treat suffering on this planet as a whole. When you look at suffering as a whole, you will soon realize that your suffering is a part of that collective suffering. It will then become apparent that the most important thing we could do to reduce suffering in the world is to reduce our own suffering as individuals. You are contributing to world suffering when you suffer as a result of focusing on the suffering of others. Because of this, it can easily be said that the single most important thing you will ever do for world suffering, is to do whatever it takes to enable yourself to be happy.” Please click here to watch this video.

The end of the Ego; The Awakening by Eckhart Tolle
In this 5 minute video Eckhart Tolle discusses how there is no ego apart from our thoughts – the identification with thoughts is the ego (which simply means we believe in every thought that arises). The thoughts that go through our minds are linked to the collective mind of the culture in which we live in, they are not our thoughts as such but we pick them up from the collective. As Rosemary has often said before, thought forms are energy, which become an entity. Thoughts about who we are that we may have picked up from others in our childhood can still be carried around as an entity. Because of this, many people are suffering with this pain and attacking themselves or others. Elderly Woman Waves at Students Every Day. Then She Got a HUGE Surprise.
Tinney is an elderly lady who waves at high school students walking by every day on their way to school. It fills her with joy to bring a smile to their faces. However, she never expected THEM to give her such a surprise. This is a 2 minute video that will warm your heart. You can see from the students reaction this lifts them up as they walk pass their home. They look forward to seeing her smile, her wave. I love it when I learn something new every time I allow myself to be present! Monday night saw Anjel OBryant and Greg Degenhardt present at Mosman for our Academy weekly gathering. Both Greg and Anjel are big Young Living Oil fans. Anjel always adds spice to an evening with her colour expertise. I use Young Living Oils, and have done so for quite some time so I obviously have my own thoughts and understandings of how to use the oils. I could of had the thought “I know all about that. I don’t want to hear that again.” but I didn’t. I showed up, not just because I helped set up and people were relying on me, but because I knew that there was always more. I know that I can only get so much information at one sitting – I won’t remember it all. What I needed to hear/know showed up for me at that time.
Thank you Greg and Anjel! And thanks to Peggy Stephens who puts so much effort into organising the speakers on Monday nights too! Great meditation on Monday night Peggy and wonderful job all round!

HEALTH – The Healing Power of Cat Purrs

“Those crazy cat ladies might be onto something. According to today’s infographic, our feline friends provide us with more than just emotional support. House cats may actually be contributing to our physical well-being. When a cat purrs within a range of 20-140 Hertz, nearby humans may be therapeutically benefiting from these vibrations. Purring has been linked to lowering stress, decreasing symptoms of Dyspnoea, lessening the chances of having a heart attack, and even strengthening bones.
Pet therapy is apparently gaining momentum in many medical communities, and according to Animal Planet’s website, there is scientific research that suggests pet owners live longer than those without pets.
It seems that our own animals have the ability to relieve us of our troubles, or at least make our worries seem less important. The bond between pets and their owners may never be fully understood (cats in particular have always struck me as magical and mysterious–and now they have healing powers?!) but it’s nice to know having a furry confidant around can add years to our lives.
