Health Tip:
Huge benefits from this Tiny, Green Herb you probably ignore once you see these flowers, your plant is all done giving you fresh herb for the year.
It’s often right there on your plate. You probably even toss it away without eating it…But you shouldn’t. You shouldn’t because this little herb is a powerhouse with important benefits. It didn’t always go so unnoticed. Greeks revered it so much they used it to crown winners at competitions and to decorate tombs of the people they honored the most.
In fact, Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, used it for many remedies. And Emperor Charlemagne helped popularize the herb in Europe by growing it in his gardens.
But what they didn’t know is that the oil from the leaves has a potent cancer fighter called myristicin. I’ll tell you more about that in a moment.
Big Things in a Little Package…
Just a couple of sprigs have three times as much vitamin C as oranges, twice as much iron as spinach, and high levels of vitamin K, vitamin A and folate.
Even better, you can use it to lower your blood pressure. One class of drug they use to lower blood pressure is a group of synthetic diuretics. That means the drug works by making you urinate more, and increasing the amount of sodium in your urine. This herb also acts as a diuretic to lower blood pressure, but it’s completely natural with none of the side effects.

* A report recommended the herb and its root for diuretic purposes.
* A natural substitute for another class of high blood pressure drugs called antiplatelet drugs, extracts of the herb were able to stop clots from forming and make blood platelets act normally again.
* It also lowers blood sugar levels. Animals given an extract dropped weight and had lower blood sugar than the ones that didn’t get the herbal extract.
* The leaves also kill cancer cells. In Chinese studies they discovered the oil contained a never before seen component now called myristicin. When they tested myristicin on cancer cells, they found it reduced tumor formation by 65%. It activates glutathione-S-transferase, which helps attach one of your body’s most powerful antioxidants, glutathione, to carcinogens.
* The herb’s volatile oil is known as a “chemoprotective” food, or a food that protects against cancer.
* This incredible little herb also protects your brain. That’s because it’s one of the most bio-available sources of the flavonoid Apigenin. Studies showed that Apigenin was able to kill deadly glial brain cancer cells while at the same time protecting healthy cells. Apigenin not only protected animals against symptoms of Alzheimer’s, but those given Apigenin had: improved learning and memory capabilities, maintained the integrity of their brain cells, had better brain blood flow, reduced free radical damage, and improved brain chemical transmission.

In and Around The Academy

It doesn’t matter what we read or what we get from our own inner guidance it is all the same at the moment. It is about preparing the body to take in higher vibrations of light. In order for us to be able to reach higher vibrations or evolve to a higher conscious level it is necessary for us to clear our cells of old patterns because it is these cells full of old memories or negative emotions that resist the light.
At the beginning of each Monday night, we invoke Archangel Michael to be present plus the Brotherhoods of Light and then I lead a mediation to bring down a powerful stream of light to illumine the brain and to help establish new pathways for the light. I take the light into the brain and into all parts of the body to enable you to release patterns and memories that you have hidden there. It is a complete rest for the mind as well. Then I hand over to our inspirational speaker who engages with you for an hour.
Now I have been guided to lead a meditation at the end of the night as well. The meditation is called ‘The Island of Regeneration’. It is a very powerful meditation, one you can practice on your own during the week. So from now on two meditations will be lead each week PLUS A WONDERFUL SPEAKER.

World Labyrinth Day – 5th May
Here’s a chance for you to walk the labyrinth or introduce a friend to it as part of Wold Labyrinth Day on 5th May.We will have the canvas labyrinth set up at the Mosman Art Gallery from 11am. You and your friends can walk it anytime.
At 1pm, there will be a Walking a Peaceful Path Ceremony. We will be part of a rolling wave of labyrinth walks all over the world…’walking as one at one’.
The labyrinth will then be available to walk again freely from 2pm until 5pm when we hold one of our regular, facilitated group walks.
This one will be special because Karen Quant, another Veriditas trained facilitator, will be ‘sounding’ the crystal bowls while you walk. The music of the crystal bowls is an extraordinarily calming sound which enhances any meditative and contemplative practice. It will be a wonderful opportunity to experience walking the labyrinth on your own in a more natural, organic way.
