FYI – connecting with empathy

A global film project is setting out to explore empathy in the world today and the community is called in to be part of it.
Bilgola Plateau filmmaker Vivienne Somers is part of a team working on Stand in My Shoes, directed by Kurt Engfehr who co-produced Michael Moore’s films Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine.
The film is set to be built around studies suggesting empathy has declined with-in humanity and real-life examples of where this decline is evident.
Ms Somers said the project would explore aspects of modern life that are causes and effects of people being less empathetic to one another.
“I think as our population has grown and our system has become very set in this capitalist system it has generated a need for us to (take on a) ‘survival of the fittest’ mentality, which has knocked out a lot of our empathy.”
The movie will use interviews with academics, a splash of comedy and material from the public.

HEALTH TIP – at a loss of what to eat?

Drink only pure, filtered water (not with meals). Have a glass of water first thing in the morning, before you have a cup of tea or coffee. (These drain kidney energy, overstimulate the adrenals and promote constipation. They are also habit forming).
This water will not be absorbed but will wash the gastrointestinal tract and flush the kidneys. It also stimulates peristalsis in the intestines, stimulates the descending colon and ileocecal valve, and helps with having a good bowel movement. (All this from a single glass of water first thing in the morning!)

What a great night we had on Monday Night as Christina, who was a very funny and delightful, as she shared with us her amazing adventures in the Amazon with a Shaman and a party of 6 women. They went were no one had been before. They caught piranhas and ate them and slept in treetops so Jaguars couldn’t eat them. Vanessa her friend, has purchased a parcel of land. This was done to prevent the Amazon from being logged and so the community could still use the land, and animals could live there and on which they have built a hospital. Its been a wonderful initiative.
