Our Last Gathering This Year!
CHRISTMAS MEDITATION AND GRATITUDE
How wonderful it would be if you all came. There will be two meditations, one by Julia Smith, Inner Tranquillity and Peace, for Earth Healing and the other by Rosemary who will do a chakra clearing and balancing during which Terri will bowl us, to align us for Christmas. If we are very lucky the angels might come through and give us some Christmas messages. This is the final Meeting for 2016 for the Academy of Light. We will finish a little bit earlier so we can share a conversation and laughter together before closing.
It is the end of a 9 year which means completion. Thinking about this brings so much gratitude with it and the mind wonders to the long history of the Academy. Over 20 years it has been presenting other people’s work, to help spread the Light by bringing to the public new information and new ways of living in good health, peace and harmony. We thank all the Presenters and their wonderful contribution to spreading the Light and would love them to come on this night and offer their products for sale. Together with the Academy’s products we can really fill Christmas Stockings.
At one stage the Academy had 7 branches operating, Neutral Bay, Marrickville, Bondi, Narrabeen, Avalon, Arcadia and Byron Bay. We would like to acknowledge all the people that ran those branches, giving their time and energy. We musn’t forget the magazine, ShiningBRIGHT and the whole office team that worked tirelessly. What a team it was. Love and gratitude to all those people, what wonderful work they did, past and present and I am sure they continue to do so in their own fields now.
2017 is a 1 year and with it comes major changes. Change in our own lives and also in the Academy’s. We are very excited about the change. Everyone, we feel has enough information, so now we are looking for Leaders. We invite people to come forward if they would like to run a healing circle or have other ideas about what is needed. So you can see things are happening although we are not sure what it looks like yet.
AOL with be opening in 2017 on Monday, 6 February with a Sound Event.
*Please note that in 2016 our door ticket prices for general admission have been increased to $20. All general bookings via Eventbrite remain at $15 plus booking fees. Concession prices will remain the same – $10. Ticket prices include refreshments.

A high frequency celebration for the opening of The Academy of Light for 2017. We invite you to come along and cleanse your body and mind with beautiful sounds and be energised and uplifted.
By surrendering, with a quiet mind, to the sound of the giant gongs, bowls, didgeridoo and other musical instruments, the natural intelligence of our body can entrain back to a state of wellbeing. It is then up to you to maintain that state by modifying what you think and consume.
Everything in creation has its own natural rate of vibration which can be accelerated or decreased by other sources of vibration by the scientific law of sympathetic resonance or entrainment.
Bring a rug/blanket and pillow to lie down or sit as you allow your body to be immersed in these wonderful therapeutic and consciousness-expanding sound waves.
The cells of our bodies tune into these beautiful sounds and release toxins embedded thought patterns that no longer serve us and the result is that we feel rested relaxed, and REJUVENATED.
Just as a piano tuner is called in to tune up a Steinway to keep it playing in tune with creation so our bodies need to be ”tuned up” so that each organ of our body knows it is supported and loved, knows it’s place in the scheme of things and is in oneness with all creation.

In and Around the Academy

A SOUND EVENT 5th December with Marc, Jewels, Ellie and John.
People turned up in droves for this wonderful night to be blissed out and cleansed and ready for a new beginning. Most had brought mats and cushions and were able to lie down during the performance. Marc walked amongst them, stepping carefully because there were so many bodies on the floor, playing his didjeridoo over them whilst John accompanied him with clap sticks. Jewels had brought her wonderful singing bowls and let their beautiful sounds fill the room whilst Marc rested for a few minutes. Ellie’s voice graced the room with Sanskrit prayers and at times the girls sang together. Marc continued to delight us all playing different didj’s, bringing thought different sounds and harmonics.
As usual the big gongs gave us the Gong Bath that we all love. Our gratitude to all of the musicians. We look forward to them returning next year.
ACADEMY OF LIGHT – FORMAT FOR 2017
We would like to modify the format of the AOL Meetings for 2017, with the following objectives :
* Enable more participation by attendees, so rather than it being a presenter to an audience,
it will be more of a facilitator and practice, like workshops.
* Reducing the breadth of topics presented so there will be more depth, like mini-courses
Some of the topics suggested are :
* Aboriginal Teachings – with evening talks supplemented by daytime offsite workshops probably in bush.
* Healing – Members sharing modalities and ministering to each other
* Sound Events – similar to current, but with the opportunity for attendee participation
* Earth Energy Service, e.g. praying for situations, elements i.e. water. etc.
Could you please advise (either by phone 9967 4425 or email) which of the above would be of interest and any other suggestions. Meeting schedule could alternate between topics, with the most popular being held more often.
Don’t forget The Academy are always looking for volunteers on all different levels of service. Connect with us and share your Light!
Just as a quick update…it was wonderful to see the Dakota Pipeline coming to a halt. An historic outcome.

Food Combinations, Exercise & Spirituality by Drunvalo Melchizedek
A thought provoking video as Drunvalo explains what food we should eat when on the spiritual path. He talks about how food and exercise effects your spiritual journey. He says that meat is not good for the human body but eating potatoes with it neutralises the affects. He was a vegetarian for 30 years but after he married he began to eat meat. The Knights Templar route across Europe from France to Jerusalem is a mystical, spiritual journey.
The first Christian Crusade left from Vezelay, France. Thousands of Knights were killed. A band of women, seeing the loss of their men folk, formed the Sisterhood of the Rose, a healing order whose crafts included the skilled use of flowers, herbs, plants and crystals.
Our intention is to draw together those who would take the adventurous and sacred journey of the Knights and the Healing Sisterhood of the Rose across Europe – from France, across the islands of the Mediterranean to Acre in the North of Israel and on to Jerusalem.
We visit the relics of Mary Magdalene authenticated by Rome in Provence.
This is a sacred journey requiring spirit and courage. Are you ready to join us on what will be our 23rd and last Sacred Sites journey?
