AOL’s Final Sacred Sound Event for 2018 – a Divine Alchemy of Sounds for the Soul

2018 ended on a high at the Academy of Light’s final Sacred Sound event of the year. Led by the talented sound healers Paulien Gort and Matthew James, it was a musical match made in heaven.
The magical tones of Paulien’s Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls, Shaman drum, Gongs and Monochord combined with the ancient music of Matthew’s Didgeridoo, Native American Flute , Handpan and Tongue Drum created a divine alchemy of sounds for the soul. Paulien’s mesmerising voice and Light Language added another dimension of healing frequencies to the sound bath.
Mosman Art Gallery’s Grand Hall – with its soaring ceilings and excellent acoustics – provided the perfect venue for the sacred sound bath. The hypnotic drones of the didgeridoo reverberated and echoed throughout the hall, sending ripples of sound across time and space.
I fell into a deep meditative trance as the healing tones weaved their magic into my soul. At one point, I felt as if I was immersed deep into the Australian bush, with the rattling of snakes and the nature spirits vying for my attention. Paulien Gort is a professional Sound Healer, holding regular Sound Baths in North Narrabeen, Sydney and surroundings. She gives individual Sound Healing sessions that are transformative on an emotional, physical and mental level. Paulien also integrates sound in her Family Constellation workshops. She is also available for private Sound Baths, retreats and ceremonies.
Mathew James is a remarkable Australian musician who has been sharing his music as a street busker. In the past two years, he started using sound and harmonic frequencies in healing and meditative spaces. “My instruments have been important for my own healing and help me communicate a language that is not of mind – but of feeling. “

Jacqueline Buckingham about living in Findhorn
The Findhorn community in Scotland is one of the world’s oldest spiritual communities, beginning inauspiciously in 1961 when three adults and three children moved to a caravan park in North East Scotland. Through their dedication to their meditation practice, listening to their inner guidance, working with the nature realms and putting love into everything they did, what grew around them is one of the world’s oldest and most famous spiritual communities.
Jacqueline Buckingham has lived and worked there for seven years, as a fundraiser, a media producer and as one of the education faculty. She will talk about her experiences of community living, how it began, why it continues to thrive and what it is REALLY like to live and work there. The evening will be primarily structured around a Q&A, so if you have been curious about Findhorn and want to know more, this is a chance to get your questions answered.
