Last Monday saw us back in our old venue The Melody Room, because the Orchestra was using the main Hall. There was some initial trepidation that the noise would be intrusive, so we set an intention for it flow harmoniously and the result worked surprisingly well. Nice and quiet for the meditation, some gentle accompaniment in the middle and then a big crescendo at the end of the night to celebrate !
Warren came out of retirement to open with a meditation, guiding the energy of the 7 rays to activate and balance the chakras. Then over to our presenter for the evening, Fiona Mackillop who was going to deliver us a “Triple Treat” of QiGong, Light language and a Sound Bath.  
Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is the ancient Chinese exercise and healing practice that involves controlled breathing and movement as a meditation. Qi is life force and gong is the practice to cultivate or master. But this was not going to be a theory class and Fiona soon had us up cultivating and moving our Chi around with a series of graceful moves. When we were finished we may not have been Masters, but did feel more energized and relaxed.
Fiona then blessed us with her channeled Light Languages, to help us release old patterns and shift our  consciousness to a higher vibration. The first one felt Lemurian to me and Fiona said it was connected to The Earth Mother, while the second one had the “clicks” that are quite distinctive from another source.  Our last treat was a relaxing Gong Sound Bath followed by a sprinkle with the Rain stick. I must say I didn’t really feel like complying when Fiona said it was time to come back, but just as well we did, because the Orchestra gave us a big finish to a very enjoyable night.

The Creation of the First Humans with Valerie Barrow

On March 25, the Academy of Light is privileged to host Australian author and gifted medium Valerie Barrow, who channels cosmic messages of immense significance for all mankind.
As a galactic ambassador, Valerie has been in clairaudient contact with the Star People for many years. She will discuss the Star People and their role in raising earth consciousness as we move into the fifth dimension.
Valerie transmits teachings from her guides – Sanat Kumara, Alcheringa and the Cosmic Sai Baba. She has written three books: The Book of Love by a Medium, Alcheringa, and Two Soulmates. She has appeared on various television and radio programs, and her Star People Revisited workshops were featured in several countries including Australia, USA, and Southeast Asia.
Valerie is a direct voice channel for ‘Alcheringa’, known to the Australian Aborigines as ‘Creator Spirit Ancestor’ or ‘The Golden One’. She is also a speaker at the Cosmic Consciousness Conference at Uluru in January 2020.
Over the past year, Valerie has been in contact with her ‘oversoul’ self, Andromeda Val, who is 6,000 years ahead into our future. According to Valerie, the Angelic Realms from Andromeda organized for our Planet Earth to be created.

‘PREPARING FOR THE 5^TH DIMENSION’ with Rosemary & John Butterworth

We are very happy to celebrate the return of 2 of the Academy’s founders: Rosemary & John Butterworth.
Rosemary will speak of the times ahead and the guidance she has received “…to prepare the people” plus will perform an energy balance for all present. She will also bring forth any angelic messages for which she is well-known.
John will treat us to one of his renowned healing and consciousness-expanding ‘gong baths’ by playing his giant Chinese gongs – preceded by a surprise meditative sound duet with another renowned performer!
Rosemary and John Butterworth are 2 of the small group that founded The Southern Cross Academy of Light in 1995 as a direct outcome of Rosemary’s extraordinary earlier meeting in rainforest on Maui in Hawaii with Archangel Michael who directed her (inter alia) to “…create a space where like-minded people interested in spirituality could gather”.
As Rosemary and John started to prepare to move permanently to ‘Jacaranda Haven’ (their 34ha country home) in recent years, the Academy was re-structured and re-named ‘Academy of Light Inc’. At ‘Jacaranda Haven’ at Dyers Crossing within the NSW Lower Mid-North Coast, Rosemary continues to counsel people and provide spiritual healing both in her dedicated healing room and by ‘phone, and is currently writing a revised edition of her wonderful book: ‘ How to Move Forward, and Leave your Thoughts Behind’. John is active running the small farming enterprise which produces an annual boutique crop of Giant Russian Garlic sold both online and by farmgate sales (www.farmhousedirect.com.au/jacarandahaven), running private classes in garden/landscape design, planning the design & construction of ‘Jacaranda Studio’ as a multi-purpose teaching/event space, performing periodic gong/sound events, and devising a staged program of urban design improvements to the nearby town of Nabiac.

Rosemary Butterworth
Just like her mother and grandmother before her, Rosemary is naturally clairaudient, clairvoyant and clairsentient and continually uses these remarkable talents to provide counselling, healing and spiritual guidance to her clients both in the healing room at ‘Jacaranda Haven’ or in Sydney, and/or over the phone. She is a founder of The Southern Cross Academy of Light and the author of the highly-acclaimed book ’How To Move Forward and Leave Your Thoughts Behind’ for which a revised edition is being currently written. She conducts regular seminars in spiritual guidance and meditation. Her other passion is gardening – following in her mother’s footsteps who had a large, prize-winning showgarden: ‘Jacaranda Haven’ is renowned for its wonderful extensive gardens.

John Butterworth

John is a qualified landscape architect & horticulturist, a farmer of Giant Russian Garlic, and a sound performer & therapist/musician who is mainly known these days for his playing of the giant Chinese and Balinese gongs. In 2000, he conceived and facilitated the unique event ‘Bathed in Sound’ for several years which combined the labyrinth of Chartres Cathedral with harmonic/overtone chanting (The Peace Choir) and gongs for up to 100 people at a time in a candle-lit setting of the Grand Hall at Mosman Art Gallery & Community Centre. In the 1990’s, he created and ran the ‘Sacred Sound’ program of sound meditation events & weekend workshops held throughout NSW, plus Hong Kong, Boulder USA, and at the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. In the field of landscape architecture & urban design, he headed his own design office for 13 years until transferring to local government in 1997 where he managed building/fit-out/public domain projects until leaving in 2017 to live full-time at ‘Jacaranda Haven’.
