Findhorn, Scotland – A Global Mecca for Spiritual Seekers

Jacqueline Buckingham gave the Academy of Light an inspirational insight about living in the world-renowned Findhorn spiritual community and ecovillage in Northeast Scotland, home to more than 400 people from around the world.
Since its beginnings in the early 1960s, Findhorn has gained a worldwide reputation for being a successful example of community living. Today, it continues to attract thousands of tourists and spiritual seekers who visit each year.

Findhorn‘s history is an extraordinary story of how three ordinary spiritual seekers living in a caravan park next to a garbage dump received and faithfully followed inner guidance; and how that faith and dedication led to the creation of a global spiritual community. People and resources began to materialise and the spiritual community evolved, and is still thriving 56 years later.
Eileen Caddy, co-founder, spiritual teacher and renowned New Age author, has written several books about the messages that she received, as well as her life’s journey.
Today, Findhorn continues to provide transformational learning experiences to those who visit, including opportunities to participate in the community’s daily life practices.
Members who join the Findhorn community are asked to live by three guiding principles: listen to your inner guidance to overcome any crisis, bring love into everything you do to help transform the world, communicate with nature to co-create solutions for environmental problems.
Jacqueline said that her seven years at Findhorn were absolutely life transformational.
“My intuitive abilities became much stronger and my life purpose became clearer. It reawakened my passion to communicate with nature.”
After moving to Findhorn in 2011, Jacqueline participated in Jon Young’s deep nature immersion programmes. Jacqueline’s current role is to help others reconnect to their love of nature and teach them to communicate with animals.
Although no longer a resident at Findhorn, Jacqueline continues to run workshops on animal communication, not only at Findhorn, but also globally, including Australia – her second home. Fiona is an experienced Wellbeing Facilitator and healer, with 16 years’ experience teaching Qigong & Meditation. She is the co-founder of ‘Wellbeing Retreats’  and founder of ‘Inspired Wellbeing’ and has facilitated a wide variety of wellness programs & live-in retreats.
Fiona will introduce easy energy gathering exercises and self-healing techniques based on the profound healing art of Qigong. You will learn to cleanse your energy field and powerfully build your ‘Qi (life force). Qigong supports us to exchange and harmonise our energy with nature. Connect with the unified field to open to our unlimited potential.
You will then be led on a Sacred Sound meditative journey. Fiona will channel through sounds toned in the ‘Ancient Language of Light’. Sounding by-passes the mind and supports all to be held in a high vibrational space, to release old patterns and have great shifts in consciousness.
The evening will complete with a relaxing Gong Sound Bath. This will ground and integrate all we have received, gifting this to humanity and the earth. Bliss out as the vibrations of the moon Gong wash over you!

Kazi Mannan owns the Pakistan restaurant, Sakina Halal Grill, located just blocks away from the White House in Washington D.C. The restaurant is a popular spot. But when you look, some of the customers in line aren’t the typical clientele. Eating together with businessmen and women are the homeless. To Kazi, there is no difference. That’s because Kazi made a promise: anyone who needs a meal, even if they can’t pay for it, is welcome.
