The Academy and COVID-19
The Committee at the Academy of Light feels that especially in times like this it is important to be able to gather and feel the support of like-minded souls now more than ever, knowing that we will create a safe place. We would therefore like to continue our two-monthly evenings as long as possible, hereby following any future advice from the Health Department. As of the new rules that came out today (18/3) we are still allowed to gather under 100 people.
When we all act in a responsible way I hope we can continue to bring beautiful uplifting evenings to you all.|
Please stay away if you have a cough, fever or respiratory issues and if you have been overseas during the past 14 days or have been in contact with anyone who has been affected by the virus.
We will take care to have more space between our chairs and we will use essential oils diffusers that are anti-viral. If we all practice social distancing we can minimise any contamination and keep going as long as possible.

Previous event: Animal Speak – Connecting Through Our Hearts
Animal communicator Jacqueline Buckingham talked to Academy of Light members about how we can play a more active role in helping animals. Jacqueline says that animal communication can be used, not only to support our pets, but also to help wild animals affected by bushfires, floods or droughts.
Jacqueline says that anybody can connect with animals. It is an inherent ability we are all born with.
“Our native ancestors used these skills in their everyday life. Aboriginal societies, like the San bushmen in Botswana, continue to use this ability today to track animals for their livelihood. “
“Even though we have lost this skill, due to our disconnection with nature and lack of use, we can reactivate our gifts through conscious desire and practice.”
Jacqueline, who trained with Anna Breytenbach, the world renowned animal communicator and animal activist, said that the trick to animal communication is about learning to quiet the mind and setting the intention to connect. Animals can pick up our telepathic messages instantly in the quantum field.
Animals communicate energetically. We receive their messages through our unconscious intuitive mind and consciously associate a feeling, sensation, image or word with the message. Sometimes messages can get lost in translation, but with practice, we can improve.
“To communicate with animals we need to get out of our heads and focus on our hearts. Visualise a bridge connecting your heart to the animal’s heart. Your mind needs to be still and receptive to any messages that come through. It is important to release self doubt and stop questioning if you are making it up.“
Jacqueline said that animal communication can also be used to help animals in extreme weather conditions – such as Australia’s recent bushfires. “Through telepathic communication, we can alert wild animals about an approaching weather event and direct them to safety. We can also reassure domesticated animals that need to be relocated by explaining what is happening and where they will be taken.”
Animal communication can be supported by Sacred Activism – sending animals love and compassion through our prayers and heart-centred consciousness. We can support specific animals that we know about or all animals in a particular area.
|“In our oceans, whale and dolphin populations are severely affected by human practices such as fishing, pollution and sonar testing. On land, elephants are in danger through conflict with humans. Yet these species are doing important planetary work on the earth grid lines and leylines.“
“The stability of the Earth’s grid depends on allowing these species to continue their work. You can send your love and compassion through prayers.“
Throughout the evening, Jacqueline guided us through a range of exercises to develop our animal communication abilities. We also had the opportunity to share our experiences with the group.

Shamanic Awakening with One Tribe Healing: Connect With Your Spirit Guides
You are all light workers doing your bit to raise the vibration of the planet. Never underestimate your contribution towards that, never doubt the impact your light has on the web. In the shamanic tradition, as in most pathways, there is a strong awareness of the interconnectedness of life. What we feel, think and do affects the entire web.
In this session we will reconnect to the purity of our personal spiritual team (referred to as our spirit guides in the shamanic tradition). We will reassess them, perhaps call in new guides to take us to the next level and even release spirit guides who do not have our absolute best interests at heart. We will connect our light and those of our guides with everyone else in the room creating a field of love we can all bathe in. Together, in service, we can then expand that out to touch those in need, to help rebalance our ecosystem and to bring peace to those affected by the traumas of recent times.
Mark Steinward is from One Tribe Healing, a shamanic school based in Perth with opportunities to train and study on the east coast too. Mark has been teaching shamanic healing for over 15 years.

Amid the devastating consequence of social distancing, people in Italy have found a way to raise their spirits and unite the community together. How wonderful they are ! Their signs on their balconies say “Everything Will Be Fine”. Such joy in the face of adversity. May we all learn from them.
