For this months article here is an excerpt from a wonderful speech given by Joseph J. Weed way back in 1961. How appropriate is it today?.
Man, as human man, takes but five major initiations plus many minor ones. After the fifth Initiation, the Ascension, man is freed from the bonds of material existence and may reincarnate again or not as he then sees fit and needful.
As the Piscean Age passes, the Great Life identified with it withdraws from the world scene. This causes the fading out of the form aspects which It has supported and energized. Institutions, ideas, customs, all begin to break down in order to make room for the new forms and life expressions which the incoming Aquarian energies will produce.
The incoming of new energies always produces a period of initiatory activity. And this is the case today. The major effect as far as humanity is concerned, is to provide thousands of aspirants and applicants with the possibility of taking the first major initiation. Now and for the next 50 years it will be possible for thousands of human beings to experience the birth of Christ within themselves and to realize that the Christ life, the Christ nature and the Christ consciousness are theirs. This is a major initiation, the first major initiation, and it is mystically referred to “The Birth of Christ”, or the “Bethlehem initiation”.

HEALTH TIP – TRANS FATS – HIGH CHOLESTEROL
Years ago scientists felt the saturated fats in foods like butter were bad for our hearts, so they made polyunsaturated margarines as a supposedly healthier alternative. These days we know a lot more about the great harm done to people’s hearts from trans fats. Trans fats have been extensively used in margarines until recently and are still found in high quantities in products such as fried foods, breakfast bars and pastries. Trans fats are fats formed when liquid oils are turned into solid fats through hydrogenation – for example when vegetable oils are hardened into margarine or shortening. These are called ‘partially hydrogenated vegetable oils’ or PHVO’s. PHVO’s are seen as extremely dangerous because they raise our levels of the supposedly ‘bad’ cholesterol (LDL) and lower our levels of good cholesterol. (HDL). They have been closely associated with many serious diseases, particularly cardiovascular disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes. PHVO’s are totally artificial and are manufactured for the express purpose of ……wait for it….helping food manufacturers increase the shelf life of their products!
Dr. Michael Jacobson, Executive Director of the US Centre for Science in the Public Interest, says, ‘Unlike fats that occur in nature, PHVO’ is totally artificial and absolutely unnecessary in the food supply.’ In one of the all-time great quotes he wisely adds, ‘Food processing companies should worry less about the shelf life of their products and more about the shelf life of their customers. Getting rid of PHVO is probably the single easiest, faster, cheapest way to save thousands of lives each year.‘
Thanks to the tremendous work done by people like Dr. Jacobson, the inclusion of trans fats in food is being reduced in most countries of the world. They are actually banned beyond minimal limits in the US. Unfortunately at the time of writing, such restrictions are yet to be implemented in Australia.
Even today’s so-called healthy margarines or margarine spreads, the ones without trans fats and with added ‘cholesterol-lowering plant phenols’ are not naturally occurring and should not be seen as healthy. Just take a look at the ingredients list and see all the synthetic antioxidants, thickeners, preservatives and colours that have been added!
So what should you do if you have high cholesterol? One suggestion would be to learn from the peoples of Hunza and the millions of rural folk who have lived in countries like China and Japan. In such places, where a predominantly whole food, plant based diet has been eaten, the problems of high cholesterol are basically….zero. High cholesterol is almost entirely a Western lifestyle phenomenon, strongly associated with stress and high intakes of animal foods. Although food manufacturers and drug companies don’t want you to know this, lowering cholesterol is not difficult and can be done entirely naturally. How? By simply reducing stress levels, eating fewer animal products (particularly red meat) and consuming a predominantly plant-based, whole food diet. Plant foods not only contain zero cholesterol but also actively balance out high cholesterol. Instead of margarine, use things like avocado, minimally processed nut butters and extra virgin olive oil for spreads and dips. Natural wisdom suggests that we should not eat products manufactured in scientific laboratories to artificially reduce what is only ‘high’ because of a poor diet or lifestyle. Keep it simple.. Eat natural foods.

We hope you had a wonderful holiday break and feel refreshed and renewed. Did you remember to take time out for yourself, perhaps walk in the park, go to the beach and de-stress. Perhaps you remembered to do some conscious breathing – which is an excellent way of getting rid of stress. Big deep breaths from the abdomen and while you a doing this practice bringing the Light down through the top of your head, let it dissolve your worries and flow out your feet, deep down into the earth. This will ground you and remove the built-up energy around your head.
Next Monday night, 8th October, we have asked Elizabeth Robinson, to be our speaker again as she blew us away, quite literally, with the new energy and modality she had been downloaded with. I think she calls it CFM. I personally felt that all illusions were broken through and the energy was one of unity. It was beautiful and really ‘rocked our socks’.
So, if you are free, do come along next Monday night and take part in the group ‘healing’ that Elizabeth will do and see what you think and feel.

John and I are putting on a very special day on Sunday 28th October. Everyone’s invited. Our special guest that day will be Jane Goodsell who will be teaching us to use Tuning Forks as a way to being our energy into balance and alignment. After feeling the effects of the tuning forks on my body. In particular the one that vibrated to 136.1 Hertz (AUM) , I asked her if she would demonstrate them to others at a gathering. Better still, I will make sure we have extra ones and I can teach them how to use them themselves.

Masquerade Ball – “Illusion of grandeur” to raise money for a worthy cause!
Keep the 15th December free as we are putting on a fabulous event for a worthy cause.
We need to raise $30,000 to build a sustainable eco hospital, birthing centre and school in the jungle of Rio Duce. We have the land we now need your help to build the hospital and school. Currently in the area there are 35 villagers with no medical aid or schools. The nearest medical help is a 10hr walk through rugged terrain.
A Masquerade Ball “Illusion of Grandeur” will be held with D.J’s, live performances and Auctions. Tickets for the night will be $50. A great way to raise money, dress up and have some fun.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. We need the following:
